ACTING IN BAD FAITH
Intentional dishonest act by not fulfilling legal or contractual obligations, misleading another, entering into an agreement without the intention or means to fulfill it, or violating basic standards of honesty in dealing with others
You can not work for an unethical, criminal or fraudulent company without facing consequences.
Ethical violations can result in a worsening reputation that loses a business both customers and employees. Moreover, considering the speed of information dissemination, an ethical misstep is difficult to contain, and a single small act in a faraway location can have a devastating effect on local reputations as well.
Ethical misconduct in any company can lead to very serious consequences which can cause the company time and money in trying to repair their business reputation and any legal issues that may arise depending on the severity of the situation. Integrity breakdown can dramatically cost a business millions of dollars and even prison time in some extremely serious cases.
There is no upside to unethical behaviour. It just means that either the company is doing so intentionally or it has been extremely lax in planning its business and lacks customer focus.
